I have a complete set of the 1980's cover and everyone on it looks like complete dorks...

Interesting! I love the Sweden and Bulgaria editions. The 1965 one is cool, too, but it doesn't look a lot like The Shire to me. I have the 1965 ROTK, and it has a bunch of bizarre dragons on the cover--not sure which part of the book that refers to!
